Telehealth Services

What is Telehealth Services?

LHC Group’s Telehealth Services is the delivery of medical information that enables you to communicate with your physician through technological outlets, such as telephone or e-mail. It is one part of telemedicine, which pertains to the monitoring process of a patient’s recovery. It can also include patient care or nursing advice, prevention methods and health education for you and your loved one.

Using Telehealth Services at LHC Group can help reduce unnecessary hospitalizations and visits to the emergency room by early intervention. Home health patients now have access to better healthcare through this technology, giving them a sense of independence. This also gives patients the opportunity to be more proactive in their recovery and continuous care.

LHC Group Telehealth Services include:

  • Personal Emergency Response System – a medical alert service
  • Telemonitoring – a monitoring system of blood pressure, weight, oxygen levels, and cardiac parameters

Due to the rapid growth of home health technology, LHC Group continues to keep track of the newest ideas and progression, identifying the benefits and costs of these advancements in the best interest of our patients.
