Petersburg’s Grant Memorial Hospice named a 2014 Hospice Honors recipient

PETERSBURG, W. Va. – Grant Memorial Hospice in Petersburg has been named a 2014 Hospice Honors recipient, earning recognition as a top agency in Deyta’s Hospice Honors program. According to Deyta, this annual program recognizes agencies “that continuously provide the highest level of satisfaction through their care as measured from the caregiver’s point of view.”

The Hospice Honors program was established by Deyta LLC, a company providing healthcare quality measurement and management services. Award recipients were identified based on an evaluation period of October 2012 through September 2013. Agencies were evaluated using satisfaction scores from the company’s Family Evaluation of Hospice Care survey.

Individual performance scores were aggregated for the evaluation period and compared on a question-by-question basis to a national average score calculated from more than 1,700 partnering hospices. Honors recipients scored above the Deyta National Average on at least 85 percent of the evaluated questions.

Hospice professionals provide the emotional, spiritual and medical support needed when patients are facing the final stages of life. Hospice services help patients live comfortably, with dignity, when a cure is no longer possible. Hospice care programs can be provided in any place a patient calls home, including nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

Grant Memorial Hospice is part of LHC Group, a national provider of post-acute care services.
