LHC Group celebrates 20 years with ribbon cutting ceremony

Flagship agencies St. Landry HomeCare and Louisiana Hospice
and Palliative Care introduce new Opelousas facility

OPELOUSAS, La. (March 4, 2014) – As the company marks its 20th anniversary in 2014, LHC Group joins the Opelousas-St. Landry Chamber of Commerce to celebrate this landmark achievement at its birthplace. St. Landry HomeCare and Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care – the flagship agencies of Louisiana-based LHC Group – will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony to introduce a new facility in Opelousas.

The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, March 11, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the new facility located at 426 Heather Drive. The public is invited to attend. Cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and musical entertainment will be provided. Guests are also invited to tour the new facility. Speakers will include Keith Myers, LHC Group’s CEO, chairman and co-founder, Deanna LeJeune, Opelousas-St. Landry Chamber of Commerce Board chair, and Jake Delhomme, retired NFL Pro Bowl quarterback and LHC Group Founder’s Advisory Board member.

LHC Group provides post-acute health care services to patients across the nation. Myers said introducing the founding agencies’ new facility in Opelousas is a great way to begin this landmark year – recalling the company’s foundation and where its mission was conceived.

“LHC Group is a company with deep, established roots in St. Landry Parish” Myers said. “As we celebrate 20 years of business in 2014, it’s sometimes hard for me to fathom what has become of a simple mission of service that began at the kitchen table in our home with the help and support of friends and neighbors.

“Today, we care for over 90,000 patients annually in 27 states across the country – but St. Landry parish is still home. The values we learned as children growing up in this community are the foundation of the LHC Group family’s culture and way of life.  It’s all about helping people.”
