An emergency surgery introduced Kathryn to people she now considers family. After being admitted to the hospital, she was referred to home health by her doctor. Having never used the service before, Kathryn was hesitant about her doctor’s recommendations, but needed wound care as well as a daily nurse for added support. St. Francis Medical Center Home Health is where she met her new family members – Shelley, licensed practical nurse and Carol, registered nurse.
Shelley and Carol became Kathryn’s ultimate support system during her three month recovery. Always on time and encouraging of her progress, Kathryn can’t imagine how she would have coped otherwise. “Their demeanor and genuine love for me and my progress was instrumental in my healing,” Kathryn says.
