Lourdes Hospice had a patient admitted to a nursing home. There was a one-hour drive separating him from his young children and father, and the patient’s family had no means of transportation to visit their loved one. With the patient only having days to live, Social Worker Angie Broussard was determined to make sure the patient’s children and father were able to see him while they could. On her day off, Angie arranged transportation for all of the patient’s family members, and helped to provide food and comfort bags for their visit. The family was able to be united one last time before the patient’s passing, all thanks for Angie’s diligent and caring nature.
